Learning needs analysis

Making right choices who, what, when and how to train gives a good boost to the success of the business and development of an individual. It can be a win-win situation, so be smart planning it right. Here's an excel to help you out.
How to use the learning needs analysis excel? It's really simple.

Step 1: use the excel base for the interviews. Training plan isn't something you invent yourself - the content is created by others. Plan the sessions with each department's managers and/or key people. Use different sheets for different interviews.

Step 2: use the excel for the summary. Categorise the content from previous excel into various topics: soft skills, technical skills, management skills, conferences etc. You can add as many as you like relevant to your company.

Step 3: use the same excel (summary) again but sheet 2 for a summary - or you can call it a draft training plan if you'd like. List the most popular needs and topics.

Voila! Now go and start creating your training strategy. Remember that training isn't all about classrooms but also work shadowing, mentoring, covision, coaching, hackathons, new challenging tasks, projects and much more.

Be smart, be fun, be beneficial for both - the business and the people.
